So I spent hours yesterday doing madlibs, and I've gotta say this was one of my most favorite ones I've ever gotten. Okay, as soon as I saw the things it was asking me to supply i.e. three famous people, a date from the past, a foreign city, a friend's name... I immediately thought of Kendra and Viv and Larry! So anyway, here's the story I got (it's supposed to be an old newspaper article) but it sounds more like one incredible acid trip. The words I supplied are in bold italics.

21 March, 1950, London—What was supposed to be a routine apple-picking trip turned into something much more. Julia and Kendra went to Laurence Olivier's farm to pick apples. This was a funny sort of farm! To get around the orchard, they rode in a Rolls Royce driven by Vivien Leigh! Julia and Kendra went about picking their apples, and they filled two big bags with the most pink and purple polka dotted apples they had ever seen.

Suddenly, Noel Coward happened to ride by on a puppy dog and offered to turn the apples into a delicious pie, right there in the orchard. Julia and Kendra didn't believe that this was possible, but they agreed. Noel Coward told them to close their eyes, and before they knew it, the apples were steaming, hot apple pies. Julia and Kendra couldn't believe their eyes! They were so amazed, they ran home and called New York Times. When Laurence Olivier was contacted about this matter, a reporter was informed that this “miracle” was “just a really sexy practical joke”!

I used to be quite an avid little blogger, I did.  I suppose that's why I am so perplexed at the awkwardness I'm experiencing in trying to start up my live journal.  I must have made my page at least a year ago and yet this is my first journal entry.  Perhaps it is my lack of know how when it comes to LJ and thus there's a bit of that first day at a new school kind of feeling.  Or the fact that, to my knowledge, I only know two people who use LJ.  It's quite an interesting site; I'm sure I'll come to love it.  Until then, I will search wildly for something to talk about so that this post won't be completely and utterly useless.  Pointless maybe.  But not useless.

Let's see.... .... ....  (The use of ellipses demonstrates my wild searching) ... ....

I started overhauling my diet today.  According to Women's Health Magazine, granulated sugar is TOXIC to our bodies!  The USDA suggests consuming no more than 40 grams of it per day as a matter of fact, lest a generally healthy person increase their risk of Type 2 Diabetes by 50 percent.  Well now, being that I will use any excuse to get on a kick that I can tell other people about I started rabidly going through my fridge, pantry, and cabinets making sugar charts for all the foods and beverages I typically consume. Apparently I have one foot in the grave already because my sugar intake has been off the meter for as long as I can remember. Sugar is a sneaky little bugger, too, because it popped up in massive amounts everywhere I looked.  Yogurts, fruit juices, salsa, V8 for god's sake, sliced cheese... all of these things... vehicles of death under the guise of deliciousness!  I should probably clarify that I'm talking about "added sugar" as opposed to "natural sugar".  Now I would explain further but I'm not sure exactly what any of this means, I just know the first one is BAD, BAD, BAD.  Maybe.  According to the lady who wrote the article in the magazine, who says this is according to the USDA, who says they've done oogles of research on rats and stuff.  So if anyone out there has been wanting to get serious about their health, or you know, looking for a bandwagon to jump on... You're welcome.
